Never before presented in Chicagoland, ReelAbilities Chicago Disabilities Film Festival features award-winning films, thoughtful panel discussions, art gallery works and live musical performances that bring together the community to celebrate the lives of people with disabilities.

LOCATION: Pilgrim Congregational Church, 460 Lake Street, Oak Park, IL 60302
FILM: “Praying with Lior”, documentary
AUDIENCE: "Praying with Lior" is recommended for all ages.
STORY: Lior has Down syndrome, and has spent his entire life praying with utter abandon. As Lior approaches Bar Mitzvah, different characters provide a window into life spent “praying with Lior.” The movie poses difficult questions such as what is “disability” and who really talks to God?
SPECIAL FEATURES: Chris Burke, actor and musician who has Down syndrome, will perform with the Chris Burke Band and join us as a panelist for discussion on the movie Praying with Lior. Burke is best known for the four years he spent playing Charles "Corky" Thatcher on the hit ABC-TV show Life Goes On and his recurring role as Taylor, the angel of faith, on the hit CBS-TV show Touched By An Angel.
DETAILS: Parking is available along Lake Street, in the parking lot to the East of the Church and in the parking garage across the street next to Oak Park-River Forest High School. A lift is available for those that need assistance reaching the Sanctuary, but please plan to arrive 30 to 45 minutes early to access the lift.
