Advocacy

Advocating for Inclusion, Opportunity, and Equity

At UCP Seguin, we advocate for policies and resources that help people with disabilities live, work, and thrive in their communities. Through education, engagement, and grassroots action, we work to ensure the voices of people with disabilities and their families are heard at every level of government.

Our advocacy efforts include:

  • Meeting with local, state, and federal legislators to discuss issues impacting the disability community.
  • Attending legislative hearings and public meetings to share perspectives and advocate for positive change.
  • Submitting witness slips on legislation that affects people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Engaging supporters through the UCP Seguin Advocacy Network, providing opportunities to stay informed and take action.
  • Partnering with the They Deserve More Coalition to advocate for increased funding and resources for disability services in Illinois.
  • Empowering individuals, families, staff, and community members to become effective advocates for inclusion, accessibility, and equal opportunity.

Together, we are building a stronger, more inclusive future where people with disabilities can live life without limits.
