Welcome to UCP Seguin

UCP Seguin of Greater Chicago is a charitable not-for-profit agency serving individuals with disabilities in metropolitan Chicago and beyond.

Illinois ranks 47th in the country on spending for people with disabilities served in community settings. As a result, Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are leaving in droves because they can't support themselves or their families on such low wages.

For more information, visit the They Deserve More website and sign up for email for updates and receive action steps. Please share your stories if you or a loved one have been impacted by low DSP wages.

Please maximize the power of your networks by sharing this updated fact sheet, the They Deserve More website, and their Facebook and Twitter pages. We invite you to voice your support with the hashtag #TheyDeserveMore

This powerful video features Peter, his housemate John, and their caregiver Sylvia along with Peter's mother, former UCP Seguin Board Member Dawn Caden. This should be what's happening everywhere in this state, but low state funding has led to poor wages for caregivers, causing crisis levels of staff turnover and closed programs.
