Manager of Institutional Giving

DESCRIPTION

The Manager of Institutional Giving performs a wide variety of grant application and report writing and related services in support of UCP Seguin’s comprehensive institutional giving program to help meet the program’s ambitious annual operating, campaign, and special project goals. The Manager of Institutional Giving is primarily responsible to: assist in the planning, management, and coordination of the institutional grants solicitation process; identify, research, and contact new, current, and previous institutional funding entities; write institutional grant requests (e.g., online and paper-based applications, proposals, letters of inquiry, etc.) and prepare related support materials for such solicitations; develop grant reports to corporate and foundation funders and other entities as requested; and, perform other institutional grant-related activities as assigned.

The Manager of Institutional Giving will approach the following categories of institutional giving sources utilizing the various mechanisms as stated below:

· Corporations, foundations, donor advised funds, business and social organizations, and other private entities through grant requests and reports

· State and federal agencies (e.g., Illinois Department of Human Services Division of Developmental Disabilities, Illinois Housing Development Authority, Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, Congressional Community Project Funding, etc.) via competitive grant requests and reports

· County and municipal government agencies (e.g., Community Development Block Grants and other funding opportunities) through grant requests and reports

· Local township 708 community mental health authorities via grant requests and reports United Way through grant requests and reports

QUALIFICATIONS

Must Bachelor’s Degree, and pertinent and successful experience in nonprofit fund development and grant application/report writing, required.

·  Minimum of 2 years of development/resource development experience.

· Minimum of 1 year of grants management experience for nonprofits– preferably in the areas of intellectual and developmental disabilities, child welfare, and/or educational training and resources, with demonstrable evidence of outcomes produced (i.e., securing funding from both private and public sources in support of programmatic, operational, and capital goals).

· Evidence of well-developed research, communication, critical thinking, and project management skills required.

· Demonstrated analytical and persuasive writing skills experience along with superior editing skills, including the ability to convey complex information clearly to a diverse audience.

· Highly organized, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy and can manage multiple projects simultaneously.

· Able to prioritize, implement, and follow through with multiple deadline-driven tasks accurately and timely.

· Experience with grant database management systems; GrantNavigator is preferred.

· Knowledge of Grants.gov, online grant application systems, and foundation research programs preferred.

·  Expertise in principles of English usage, spelling, grammar, punctuation, report preparation, data collection management, and record-keeping.

· Computer word processing and data collection skills, familiarity with Word, Excel, and other applications used in grant preparation, submission, and reporting.

Familiarity with/knowledge of theories, methodologies, and technologies, along with Federal and State laws and regulations pertinent to the field of developmental disabilities and other disabilities supported through the agency’s mission.

WORK SCHEDULE
Primarily Monday through Friday regular business/program hours with scheduling flexibility to work variable hours as needed to appropriately carry out duties and responsibilities effectively.

Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000
