Director of Licensing and Intake

DESCRIPTION

To provide effective leadership over the Licensing functions of Children’s Foster Care by acting as liaison with children’s’ referral agencies and ensuring: Sufficient recruitment and training of foster parents to meet placement needs within communities appropriate to needs of children; Effective licensing and renewal process for foster family homes consistent with the particular physical, social and emotional needs of children served; Cross-team collaboration, cooperation and service integration across work unit and organizational boundaries.

Coordinate the intake, assessment, evaluation, public benefits and case management processes relative to the admission, referral/placement and discharge of infants and children into/from the foster care program; evaluating and monitoring children's social adaptation and facilitating appropriate interpersonal and family relationships in accordance with agency policies and practices; obtaining /maintaining linkages between the child, foster and biological family, agency and community services; fostering each child's dignity and personal worth by asserting and safeguarding his/her human and civil rights and those of the family; ensuring that each child's education, habilitation and medical needs are met; coordinating the utilization of clinical resources in the habilitation and assessment process for each child; practical implementation of rules and regulations governing education and foster care programs; functions as liaison with DCFS in regards to referrals.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION

Master’s of Social Work degree from an accredited school of social work or an equivalent Master’s degree in a human service field from an accredited school. Possess Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) certification as Licensing Representative and Child Welfare Direct Service licensure; Certification in the DCFS Child Endangerment Risk Assessment Protocol (CERAP) preferred. DCFS certification in Foster Home Licensing Standards and the Child Care Act examination preferred; Valid Driver's License and; Certificate of Proof of Insurance and maintenance of such at minimum amount of coverage required by law.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 5 years of full-time professional work experience in a social work setting in the field of child welfare, which includes, a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in Illinois Department of Children and Family Services foster home licensing.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Primarily, regular Monday through Friday business/program hours with scheduling flexibility to work variable hours as needed to effectively carry out duties and responsibilities. Carries Agency pager at all times to maintain on-call availability as needed to ensure appropriate response to emergencies / crises of persons served or as necessary for service provision.

SALARY $75,000 - $85,000
