Illinois State Leaders Recognize DSP Week in Proclamations and Resolutions
Illinois state and local leaders honored the work of direct support professionals by formally recognizing September 11-15, 2017 as Direct Support Professionals Recognition Week.
The Illinois Senate acknowledged the They Deserve More coalition in its recognition and honored DSPs for “their dedication to enhancing the lives of children and adults with disabilities and their families.”
The Illinois House of Representatives resolved that DSPs provide care for thousands of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Illinois.
Further, the Cook County Board and DuPage County Board issued resolutions acknowledging Direct Support Professionals Recognition Week in Illinois.
We would like to thank our state and local legislators for honoring the tireless work of DSPs throughout the state.
