Night Specialist

DESCRIPTION
Provide supportive assistance, personal care & training to consumers in their daily living activities, in accordance with the goals & requirements prescribed in each consumers I.S.P. and in a manner that facilitates cross-team collaboration, cooperation and service integration across work unit, department and organizational boundaries. Monitor and supervise consumers during their sleep time, remaining awake and alert throughout the entirety of the overnight shift and making appropriate interventions and consumer checks as stipulated and as needed to ensure their safety and well being.

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP):
Provide support & comfort to people with developmental and other disabilities, assisting them to lead self-directed lives, achieve their personal goals and contribute to their community; and encourage attitudes and behaviors that enhance inclusion in their communities.

QUALIFICATIONS
Variable schedule requiring scheduling availability appropriate to changing support needs of persons served, providing coverage within a cluster of program sites. High School diploma or GED Minimum of 21 years of age. Six months successful work/volunteer experience with persons developmental disabilities preferred. Valid Illinois Drivers license. Certificate of Proof of Insurance and maintenance of such at minimum amount of coverage required by law, Possess or acquire within first ninety days of employment self-administration of medication training. Maintain certification through retraining and annual re-certification, as required. Possess or acquire within new hire training cycle First Aid and C,P.R. certification, updating as required by licensing agency.
